Degree in "Lettere" obtained at the University of Florence, with a thesis in Semantics and Lexicology, titled "La variazione primaria dei verbi generali ad alta frequenza. Dati quantitativi e qualitativi nel campionamento del Corpus di italiano Parlato LABLITA" (110/110 with honours)

ACTIVITIES


From 1998 He collaborated with the Linguistic Laboratory of Italian Department (LABLITA) at the University of Florence.

In 1999 He collaborated with the publishing house Le Monnier in Florence to the revised edition of Nuovo Devoto-Oli Compatto. Dizionario fondamentale della lingua italiana (DOC), a learner-oriented Italian monolingual dictionary, published in 2001;

From July 2002 He is researcher associate at the Linguistic Laboratory of Italian Department (LABLITA) at the University of Florence. He worked within the European project C-ORAL-ROM (IST2000-26228, V UE framework programme). He worked on:
- text-sound alignment of the speech corpus
- POS tagging and lemmatization of the Italian resource
He participated at the FIRB project "L'italiano orale in diacronia" (spoken italian in diachrony).

From September 2004 He worked to the development of language-technologies for the management of multimedial repositories, within the AXMEDIS project (VI framework programme, IST-511299).

In September 2003 He participated to a workshop directed by Harold Short (dirctor of the Centre for Computing in the Humanities, Kings College of London) dedicated to mark-up languages and the TEI (Text Encoding Initiative) standard.

In December 2004 He was invited at the University of Palermo, to give a lecture (within the Ph.D. seminar programme in Italian Linguistics) on the morpho-syntactic tagging of spoken language resources.

In the academic year 2004/2005 He collaborates to the course in "Didattica della Lingua Italiana" (didactic of Italian language) at the School of Specialization for back-up teachers (SSIS of the Tuscany), giving lectures for specialistic modules.
